Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.), variety trials were carried out in Vanuatu from 1983 to 1986. All the varieties, some tropical and same temperate came from the International Potato Center (IPC). These varieties were tested for their ability to be stored in diffused light, at room temperature. Nw simple technique of reproduction using sprouts, cuttings and true potato seed, which have proved to be feasible solutions and suitable for extension services, are also described.
