Suite à des demandes spécifiques du VANUATU et du SAMOA OCCIDENTAL, le Groupe de travail Hydrologie de l’Association régionale 5 de l’OMM, à l’issue de sa seconde session tenue à WELLLNGTON du 28/11 au 3 1/12/88, proposait le développement d’actions de coopération bilatérale. Une subvention du Ministère français des affaires étrangères et l’établissement par le laboratoire d’Hydrologie de l’ORSTOM-MONTPELLIER de la version anglaise de la chaîne de traitement HYDROM a permis : - de répondre aux demandes du SAMOA OCCIDENTAL, - d’identifier les problèmes des services vanuatais en hydro-climatologie, - et de prendre contact avec les services hydrologiques fidjiens.

Further to specific requests of VANUATU and WESTERN SAMOA, the Working Group on Hydrology of Regional Association V (South-West Pacifie) of World Meteorological Organization, at the end of its session hold in WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND, from 28 november to 3 december, recommended to develop actions in bilateral co-operation. Subvention from the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs and establishment by the Hydrology Laboratory in ORSTOM-MONTPELLIER of english version of HYDROM software allowed to : -answer to requests of WESTERN SAMOA, -identify problems of VANUATU Services in hydro-climatology, -to get into touch with FIJI Water Sections.
