Description

The modified canines of pigs which are ultimately circular in form are found in several regions of the Pacific, namely New Guinea, Vanuatu and Fiji. This chapter looks at their distribution, chronology in the archaeological record and suggests that they are a definitive indicator of past connections across the region dating to more than 400 years ago.
