Description

[EN] The forest tree Santalum austrocaledonicum is endemic to the archipelagos of New Caledonia and Vanuatu, and is threatened by the reduction of the populations due to exploitation. In order to investigate the genetic diversity and structure of this species, we developed eight pairs of primers for nuclear microsatellites. These loci were polymorphic in all the populations, with a mean of three to 33 alleles per locus.

[FR] L'arbre forestier Santalum austrocaledonicum est endémique des archipels de Nouvelle-Calédonie et de Vanuatu, et est menacé par la réduction des populations due à l'exploitation. Afin d'étudier la diversité génétique et la structure de cette espèce, nous avons développé huit paires d'amorces pour les microsatellites nucléaires. Ces loci étaient polymorphes dans toutes les populations, avec une moyenne de trois à 33 allèles par locus.
